Care for Education is excited to highlight the work of Brick Club South Africa, a volunteer-driven initiative bringing free LEGOĀ® play into libraries and community spaces.

Established in 2024, Brick Club South Africa believes in something simple but powerful: when children are given the chance to build and create freely, their confidence, curiosity, and imagination grow. Their cheerful āRaise a Villageā duck mascot has become a fun reminder of the community spirit that sits at the heart of their work.
What makes Brick Club South Africa extra special is its commitment to keeping play accessible. All sessions are free, run by volunteers, and supported through donations and sponsorships so that children can simply arrive, engage, and enjoy.
The clubs currently reach more than 530 children each monthĀ across areas including Durbanville, Milnerton, and Somerset West. Their offerings range from baby play sessions to homeschool gatherings and a pilot programme supporting neurodiverse children ā all grounded in hands-on, open-ended play.
Working alongside libraries, schools, and daycares, Brick Club South Africa creates welcoming spaces where children from different backgrounds can learn, explore, and connect. With every build, children practise problem-solving, communication, and collaboration ā all while having fun.
Care for Education is proud to support this work and grateful to Brick Club South Africa for sharing their story and pictures with us š
