A group of 23 Occupational Therapists attended 2 days of training to discover how Play can help to improve Mental Health. And the outcome - Laughter really is the best medicine!
The therapists came from a number of local public mental health facilities in and around Gauteng. They are working in various mental health settings, including paediatrics, geriatrics, in-patients, out-patients, acute and chronic conditions, hospitals and clinics.
Fun was had by all and the noise and excitement that remained in the room for the full two days is testament to the power of play and how it can help not only a marginalized and stigmatized community, but also those who help them.
